NinjaBee Releasing New Avatar Game
Today, according to their blog, NinjaBee will be releasing another avatar game in 2010. However, this new game isn't Ancients of Ooga, the spiritual successor to Cloning Clyde announced just this fall. It is instead an entirely new game directed towards the Xbox avatars. Each week in January, NinjaBee also plans to release concept art work hinting at what the game could possibly be about. More info about the project after the break!
Kingdoms for Keflings Gets Some Downloadable Action
Well, if you haven't gotten into A Kingdom for Keflings yet, I am saddened. I urge you to go download it ASAP. If you do own a copy of the game and enjoyed it, then you will be happy to know that some downloadable content is coming out for it. The first set is called Kingdom Pack 1 which adds two new kingdoms to the game called the Orchard Kingdom and Kingdom Crossroads. The ever cleverly titled Kingdom Pack 2 adds another two called Relic Kingdom and Central Kingom. Kingdom Pack 2 is thought to be for more advanced players. The content will be avaliable December 9th. Images and press release after the break.
Goodbye GRIN
It is a sad day in the world, as one of the best independent game developers has shut its doors. Most famous for developing hits such as Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfare 1 and 2, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Terminator Salvation, and Bionic Commando, GRIN is no more. However some of its spirit lives on in, Outbreak Studios, newly formed by ex-GRIN programmers. The GRIN website reads:
Trials HD hits XLA, Media Blowout
Well if you haven't all ready picked up Trials HD then you probably don't know what it is and how cool it looks. Which means: a) You don't have an Xbox 360, b) you just aren't cool enough to know, c) you've never been to Miniclip.
So what is Trials HD? Well the game is described as this:
Plain Sight, Now with Powerups
Beatnik Games has announced that its upcoming game about killing yourself, Plain Sight, will have power ups. There is also a couple of game modes that have been added as well; as to what they are, is beyond me. Plain Sight is looking really great. A while back I got in on the closed beta. The game has only improved since then. It's one title that I am really looking forward too. Without further ado, I present the power ups, after the break!
The Witness, Jonathan Blow's Next
Jonathan Blow created Braid, an excellent game with so much thought, depth, and design that it is hard to see any flaws. Would we ever hear from him again after he charged us 1200 MS points for his fantastic game? Yes, we have and he has released a new teaser website for his new game The Witness. The website is completely white and plain. With just black text. That describes the game as:
An exploration-puzzle game on an uninhabited island.
New Dust: An Elysian Tail Trailer
The Elysian Tail is particular interesting as it seems to have many projects being built around one universe. There is an independent movie coming out as well as a game called Dust: An Elysian Tail. The art work looks beautiful and the gameplay smooth. The game is slated to be released on Xbox Live Indie Games but has been entered into the Dream Build Play competition, from what I understand would allow it to become a full Xbox Live Arcade title.
I must say that the game looks pretty impressive. Hopefully wont be completely geared towards children. As well as having a good depth to story and gameplay; rather than being a standard beat'em up. Trailer below.
Steals and Deals: R-Type Dimensions
Hey all you crazy cool retro cats! Do you like the old arcade, challenging, keep playing till you break the controller games? Well do I have a deal for you! Well, at least Microsoft does. R-Type Dimensions is now avaliable on Xbox Live Arcade for 800 Microsoft Points. Thats 33% less (1200 MS points) than the original price. It's avaliable now for all Xbox Live Gold members. Will anyone pick it up?
